From an older garden…

…near the Lake Michigan shore.  The only building at this location which may have had a garden was a small lighthouse, which was demolished many decades ago.

Closed Morning Glory, Sweet Alyssum and Fallen Leaves

The Sweet Alyssum is a bit old-fashioned, as the same plant contains both purple and white flowers.

  1. Sweet Alyssum brings back memories of my other grandmother (Dad’s mother) who always had them dotted through her garden. She died when I was 17 and was buried on my 18th birthday, much too young at only 60 after raising 13 children. My Dad is the eldest. I can picture her as though it was yesterday, dressed in her apron and proudly showing us her garden. Thanks for a beautiful memory.
