During the ‘storm’

Though I spent the day cleaning, every once in awhile I’d pass the window, grab the camera, and take a shot of the progress of the ‘storm’ (which really was NOT a blizzard…it just kept snowing all day, that heavy wet snow!

Here’s what I recorded, and the time each image was taken (All times CST):

YIKES!  That was the most snow we’ve had since Groundhog Day (February 2nd), 2011!

Even my little art mannequin was amazed!

You can also see how much fell by looking at these two images of the parking lot fence line:

All told, it looked to be between five and six inches fell here, although O’Hare Airport officially recorded nine inches!

Due to relatively ‘warm’ temperatures (at and above freezing), however, the snow began melting quickly, and it wasn’t (ONCE AGAIN!) as big a storm as the ‘weathermen’, with all their computer ‘models’, predicted!

  1. Wow, this is excellent documentation of the snowfall! We’re now into spring mode with temperature already hitting 15C yesterday but guess what, we’re having another bout of winter spell with temp hitting -15C this coming Sunday. I’m starting to get depressed by winter. 😉

  2. I just love photos of snow falling, so these were always going to be a massive hit for me. I love them. I also really like that tree with all the snow on it, the shapes and strange ways the branches grow is really wonderful.
