Christmas Windows at Anna Held Florist and Cafe

The curved window at the corner of Bryn Mawr Avenue and Sheridan Road, in the Edgewater Glen Neighborhood of Chicago. Isn't it splendid...and the 'trees' are made of rolled newspapers!

'Shop Local' is a big thing here...it keeps the dollars in the neighborhoods! I'm not sure what the '99%' means, but it is quite pretty!

Mmm...it's always a good day for steamy hot chocolate in wintry, windy Chicago--with or without marshmallows!

Whoever decorates these window should be applauded...they are always gorgeous and very creatively designed. LOVE the tree here!

Here's a close-up of the 'ice'...various Plexiglas (TM) and glass vases and display boxes. I thought it was very nicely done!

The following windows at Tiffany’s are small, only about eighteen inches wide by less than twenty-four inches high…every little ‘set piece’ has been carefully crafted in miniature…keep that in mind as you view this marvelous Christmas window display!

A beautiful tree, a curving staircase (carpeted!) and lovely baubles under the tree!

A comfy chaise longue, crystal chandelier, wonderful view of the Chicago skyline and glistening rings which just happen to be left on the chaise!

Snow-covered branches, amazing stonework, a couple in silhouette under the mistletoe and a fabulous engagement ring! I think she said, "Yes!"

Snowy steps, a warm and inviting glow from indoors, a door cracked open and a necklace, earrings and a ring left on the steps as a surprise for her...think she rushed in to thank him? I do, and I would, too!

In Macy’s Walnut Room

"The Great Tree"

“The Great Tree”

The Great Tree is a tradition Macy’s continues to celebrate, after occupying the huge former Marshall Field’s store at Washington and State Street, where the very first Great Tree was erected in 1899! It is approximately forty-five feet tall, and almost touches the ceiling of the two-story Walnut Room Restaurant!  The ornaments and theme change every so often, and this is totally different than last year’s Great Tree!
