For some reason…

…I find great hope as the sun rises.

Sunday morning

Sunday morning

This morning, just one week before Christmas!

This morning, just one week before Christmas!

Wishing all my followers the happiest Christmas ever, and an extremely prosperous New Year!

It’s been the worst of times…

…because my computer totally died and both the motherboard and the CPU had to be replaced.

AT&T kept giving me a ‘security error’, stating that my Internet account was “Unprovisioned“.

In addition, BEDBUGS migrated from an apartment one floor below, and even after TWO exterminations, a few remain, though I’ve caulked every baseboard, filled every hairline crack, washed walls and almost every article of clothing I own (much is still tied up in plastic bags until I can get to the cleaners).

My lovely home/apartment has been totally ‘topsy-turvy’ for the last two and a half weeks…and I.  Am.  Exhausted!

Yesterday, I spent five hours re-installing software (still have some ‘tweaking to do!), made two trips up to AT&T in Evanston to alleviate the ‘lack of Internet’ situation, and have made it through one of my three e-mail accounts before collapsing into bed.

Time to begin again…

New Day

…with a brand new day!

Within a bit over nine hours time
the changes in the skies
from evening to morning
continue to amaze

Awareness…or not…

…something wonderful can happen when one makes a mistake!

We’ve had some pretty amazing sunsets here in Chicago lately…I grabbed the camera and shot this one with the “Sunset” setting back on May 25th.

The following morning, I awoke early, and obviously had not had quite enough coffee, because I quickly grabbed the camera and rushed into the studio to capture the sunrise.

I forgot to change the setting!

In a way, though, I was quite happy with the outcome.

A moment later, realizing my error, I re-set and clicked again…this is what the May 26th sunrise really looked like:

Wrong setting…right setting?

It matters not…because beauty IS in the (camera’s) eye of the beholder!

This morning’s sunrise…in a two minute sequence!

So very glorious to watch!

NOTE: No Photoshop (TM) here…these are all straight from the camera!

Then, I checked the weather, and it’s only 15 degrees F.–that’s 17 degrees BELOW freezing, with a heavy west wind gusting to 23mph!

Not exactly my idea of Spring!

But…less than an hour later, my hardwood floors looked like this–gleaming–after being treated with an Orange-glo product!

Spring cleaning is almost finished!

Just the oven, the refrigerator, and 3 windows (inside and out), plus two sets of window blinds (yes, I also wash those, by soaking them in hot, soapy water in the tub, then letting them dry before re-hanging)!

Oh…and then I can tear the kitchen apart…I’m planning on washing the walls, then repainting!

A lot of work, you say?

Sure…but who doesn’t like living in a well-cleaned home?!?

What a difference a day makes!

Taken this morning, a full half-hour earlier than yesterday’s images!

At 6:42 AM (CST), you can plainly see how much the sun has 'moved' since early yesterday!

N.B.:  Once again, no adjustments other than re-sizing were done.

The reddish-pink dots in the first image are not UFOs, merely reflections from a digital readout on an electric heater in my studio.

There is a layer of heavy plastic over the window, therefore the camera is shooting through that plus two layers of not very clear glass…the images are not as sharp as I would prefer, but you can still see the beauty!
